The Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo has reiterated the commitment of the federal government to continue to embark on mass entrepreneurs initiatives to reduce unemployment and poverty across the country.
The Director General gave the assurance on Monday while declaring open a one-week training programme organised for the aspiring entrepreneurs in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
The Director General who was represented by the Kogi state Coordinator of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Zakari, said that the programme was put in place in collaboration with Consultant Nazeemursaj Ltd to train participants on feasibility report writing and mimic market situation.

He said that the training would as well afford the beneficiaries the opportunity to have access to loans from the public to improve upon their livelihood.
According to Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo “the need to accord priority to skills development under Buhari’s led administration will be sustained because that is the only solution to the prevailing unemployment in Nigeria
“The era of White Collar Job is no longer visible.
Entrepreneurship is capable of tackling unemployment, social vices, youth restiveness, prostitution and drug abuse amongst others”
In his welcome address, the Head of Small Scale Enterprises, Amos Ibidun Abiodun, charged the trainees to see themselves as becoming self reliant at the end of the training.
Responding on behalf of the trainees, Mrs Lawal Agnes appreciated the NDE and the federal government for the gesture with a promise that the privilege will be justified.
