2023: Peter Obi will rescue Nigeria, says spokesman, seek Kogi support

Ahead of 2023 general elections, Nigerians have been called upon to support and join hands with the Presidential candidate of Labour Party Peter Obi to rescue the country from its present precarious situation and economic doldrum.

The Chief Spokesman Obi/Datti campaign organization Dr. Yunusa Tanko made the call on Monday at a press conference to herald the campaign rally of the party in Kogi state.

According to him, the presidential campaign train of the Labour Party would hit the three senatorial district of Kogi state on the 14th of December, 2022 and the grand finale at confluence stadium in Lokoja to seek the mandate of the people of Kogi state Peter Obi and his running mate Alhaji Datti Ahmed to enable them remove the nation from hostility, insecurity and unemployment to prosperity.

He called on the people of Kogi state to come out in their large numbers to welcome and receive the messiah that would salvage the current precarious situation of Nigeria.

“This is the time to rescue Nigeria from its present sorry condition. This campaign is not about religion or tribe , it is about our nation that is no longer functioning as a result of maladministration.

“We are not happy seeing our country diminishing every day in all sphere of life. It has been established that over 130 million Nigerians are living below poverty level that is unacceptable and our presidential candidate has said the 130 million Nigerians should come and join him to form a government that will address the challenges the country is facing right now.

“This campaign and the general election is about competency, character , capacity and consistency with a lot of compassion to deliver. Those are the values in which Peter Obi is known for, and he as exemplified that in Anambra state. He will replicate that to move the nation to greater height if given the mandate” he said.

In his remark a member of the campaign council, Engr. Nelson Orgohi lamented that a lot of younger people in Kogi state took to crime and thuggery for lack of legitimate jobs, noting that the state at present is at the precipice and “this is the time for us to decide how and what we want the state to be”

“There is no better time for a young person to be recognize than now. Mr Obi is creating for us a new direction of leadership were young people will have a voice so that they can speak and be heard. This is our time” he stated.
