The Elulu of Mopa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun has declared his readiness to collaborate with the state government to ensure adequate security of lives and property in his kingdom.
The Royal Father who is the Chairman, Mopamuro Local Government Area Traditional Council, disclosed this on Thursday after he was conferred with an award of meritorious service to his community by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Kogi State Council in recognition of his selfless service to his people which has ensured peace and security in his domain.
Speaking at the Grand Finale of the 2025 Press Week of the Council in Lokoja with the Theme: “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development” the monarch said that Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, have been very supportive, noting that he has provided the enabling environment for the traditional councils to operate.
According to him, as an entrepreneur, he will continue to work with investors to come to the Local Government, to ensure the provision of job opportunities for the teaming youths of the community.
Speaking also, the Vice president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, in charge of zone D, Alhaji Adeiza MomohJimoh who represented the National President of the union at the occasion, noted that the choice of the royal father was based on his enviable track record both as a business man and as a Royal Father.
He called on the first class traditional ruler to continue to hold on to his principle of love and care, which has endeared him to his community.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Kogi State Chairman of NUJ, Alhaji Sheidu Haruna, commended the royal father for ensuring the security the people in his domain.
According to him, the Royal Father have been able to attract development to his area, through investment in infrastructure and as well as encouraging the springing up of companies, which has provided livelihood for the young people and as well boost economic activities in the area.
