A Non Governmental Organization Challenged Parenthood Initiative(CPI) has organised a one day Capacity Building For Key Stakeholders in the campaign of Covid19 Vaccination in Kogi state.
Addressing the participants during one-day Capacity Building For Key Stakeholders in Lokoja the Executive Director of CPI Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, said the programme
was primarily geared toward Enhancing Demand Creation and Uptake of Covid -19 Vaccine in the state.
She further disclosed that CPI in partnership with CITAD and with funding from MacArthur Foundation has been carrying out various advocacy visits to key stakeholders on the need for the enhancing demand creation of the Covid 19 Vaccine project in the state. hence the need to also bring them together and enhance their capacity to become an ambassador for public acceptability of the vaccination project.
According to her, the capacity building became necessary in order to ensure that all relevant stakeholders in the campaign work in harmony for the public to accept and access the covid 19 Vaccination made available in the State.
She noted that CPI is purely a humanitarian organization, a woman-led non-governmental, nonreligious, non- partisan, and non-profit oriented which is committed to enhancing awareness on the efficacy of communities to increase demand for the uptake of the vaccines. For the safety and good health of the people of the State.
She Further Disclosed that her NGO decided to build the capacity of the stakeholders on emerging issues in the fight against Covid19 and to promote uptake of Covid 19 Vaccines so as to ensure good heath of citizens of kogi State.
Some of the outcomes of the capacity building training was that the CPI was able to secure more of the buy-in and collaboration with the stakeholders to address the myths and misconceptions associated with Covid19 Vaccines.
Equally there is also more willingness on the part of the stakeholders to do more engagement and enlightening for public acceptance and access to the vaccines in the state.
Stakeholders present at the capacity building training includes Representatives of kogi state ministry of health, Kogi State Primary health care development Agency, National Orientation Agency Kogi State Directorate, Nigeria Medical Association kogi State Chapter, Christian Association of Nigeria Kogi State, State Executive of Jama’Atu Nasril Islam, Traditional Rulers and Royal fathers as well as some notable media practitioners.
