Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has charged the Chief Judge of the state Justice Josiah Majebi to use his wealth of experience in advancing the cause of the state judiciary.
Governor Bello stated in government house Lokoja on Friday during the swearing-in of Justice Josiah Majebi as the substantive Chief Judge of Kogi State.
He mentioned that the appointment of the Chief Judge is a product of due process, noted that his inauguration as substantive Chief Judge also followed the approval of the National Judicial Council (NJC).
He stated that Justice Josiah Majebi has experience, character and education to occupy the office, noting that
more accomplish can be gotten from him through his determination and courage.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Muhammed Sani who was represented by the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Abeeb Abdullahi commended the governor for his concern and support offered to the state judiciary.
According to him, the recent naming of Governor Yahaya Bello as one of the six performing Governors by President Muhammadu Buhari is enough attestation to the fact that the governor has transformed the state better than he met it .
He assured that the Chief Judge will discharge his duty responsible in accordance with the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
In his response, the Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Majebi said his vision is to ensure judicial integrity, noting that a Council of Judges has been instituted along others to achieve set objectives in the reformation of the state judiciary.
Justice Majebi who stated that he has established some directorates and units as well as welfare initiatives for staff thanked the Governor, the national judicial council and other stakeholders for their support, assuring that first line judicial service will not be compromised under his leadership.

Justice Josiah Majebi was appointed Acting Chief Judge on Twenty seventh June Twenty Twenty Two (27th June, 2022) .
