The National Association of Igala Students has congratulated the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Usman Ogbo on his recent promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.
The promotion was approved by the Governing Council of the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba as a result of his dint of hard work, exemplary professional conduct as an academia.
In a statement signed by the President of the Senate of the association, Senator Muhammed Suleiman Husseini which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Saturday, the statement described the promotion as well deserved owing to his demonstration of a unique and scholarly expertise in his field and engaging in activities that aligns with the profession.
The students body also praised the Rector for his tremendous work and positive impact on education in the State.
“We are seeing that manifest in where he is currently serving at the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. He ensures that education that is being administered to the students conforms with the requisite standard as students have access to facilities and equipments that enhances their learning.
“We also in a special way eulogize him for his remarkable work in uplifting the academic performance of students in Kogi State Polytechnic (KSP). It is an open secret that long before now, what we had was a different case until he took the mantle of leadership of the institution and change the narratives for better.
“It a fact that students of KSP Lokoja can now compete favourably with their Polytechnic counterparts across the world in terms of academic performance, practical knowledge and discipline. It is indeed a blessing to the Igala nation for having Dr. Usman Ogbo in the educational sector of Kogi state.
“The Igala Students Association is happy with him and his good works in moulding future leaders in the state. May God continue to bless him and grant him strength for more good works” the statement said.
