The leadership of Adavi United 4 Ododo, a foremost grassroots campaign organization in Adavi Local Government Area on Tuesday met with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 11, Governorship election in Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo at his residence in Lokoja.
A statement by the group’s director of media, Comrade Salihu Zubair Obadaki said the meeting which was to intimate the APC Governorship candidate with the group’s plan for grassroots mobilization in Adavi Local Government Area ahead of the flag off of campaign rallies in the state also provided an opportunity for members of the group to express appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for the peace initiatives his administration has embarked upon in Adavi Local Government which the group noted culminated in the massive decamping of political bigwigs to the APC in the area.
The group also commended the state government under Governor Yahaya Bello for the recent upgrade of the stool of the Asema of Uka to a first class traditional title in the state, noting that it was gratifying that this development is taking place under the reign of the current holder of the Asema of Uka title, His Royal Highness, Chief Momoh Nasiru who is a mentor and spiritual guardian of the group.
In his remarks, the chairman of Adavi United 4 Ododo, Mr. Sadiq Yusuf Enakosibo commended the APC Governorship candidate for identifying with the group as a reliable grassroots mobilization platform in Adavi Local Government and for finding the group worthy of recognition.
He pledged the total support of the group to the APC candidate and promised that members of the group will work with other stakeholders in Adavi Local Government Area under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Omuya Salami, the executive chairman of the Local Government Area in ensuring the victory of the APC in the Governorship election.
He also commended the Executive chairman of Adavi Local Government Area, Mr. Joseph Omuya Salami for uniting all the APC stakeholders in the area.
In his response, the APC Governorship candidate praised members of the group for utilizing their hard-earned resources and for sacrificing their time to create a viable support base that is working with other stakeholders for the success of the party in Adavi Local Government Area.
He also charged members of the group to see the Ododo Governorship campaign as their own project, adding that the interest of the people should be the priority of the group.
He assured the group that the APC government in the state will continue to reward hardwork and loyalty by individuals and communities at all times in line with the leadership principle of Governor Yahaya Bello.
The APC Governorship candidate further noted that he is in the Governorship race to build on the successes and achievements of the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello by bringing about massive transformation in critical sectors of the economy of the state within the shortest time possible when elected as the Executive Governor of Kogi State in the November 11 Governorship election.
High point of the meeting was the presentation of campaign souvenirs in support of the APC candidate by the group.
