The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Good Governance and Due Process Hon. Aturu Ojo has applauded His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritizing education and other sectors in the State.
Hon. Ojo stated this on Wednesday in Lokoja while interacting with newsmen shortly after he accompanied the Governor who visited the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara to meet with the 29 students of the university who were rescued from their abductors that attacked the citadel of learning and took away 31 students on the 9th of May, 2024.
The grassroot politician who was full of praises to His Excellency for, his kind gesture to the kidnapped, but rescued students, said the action of the Governor has shown the high level of humility and humane characteristics he had for the students and the education sector in the State.
While calling for total support for His Excellency to enable him achieve all his laudable programmes and plans for the State, the Special Adviser said Governor Ododo’s prompt payment of salaries to workers has drastically improve the economy of the State.
“His Excellency has a lot of developmental plans for the State. His concern for the people of the State led to the quick rescued of the 29 students of CUSTECH University Osara and by special grace of Almighty God such ugly incident shall never happened in any university in Kogi State again.
“Also he has promised to complete the perimeter fencing of the institution within 16 weeks and his assurance of full security surveillance at the university will further strengthen the security architecture in the campus.
“I am optimistic that the security measures taken by our Governor will continue to keep our educational system and indeed communities safe from any attack” he stated.
While commending His Excellency for his decision to immortalize the two slain students of the university, Hon. Ojo used the occasion to commensurate with the families and friends of the two students.
