Over 500 benefit from free medical treatment offered by Navy Out Post Idah

The Navy Out Post (NOP) in Idah has offered free medical treatment to over 500 residents of Ogbogbo and its adjoining communities in Igalamela/Odolu local government area of Kogi state under its 2024 Operation Delta Sanity IV of the Nigerian Navy.

Addressing the beneficiaries during the programme held at community secondary school Ogbogbo on Tuesday, the Commanding Officer NOP , Commander Nelson Oyagha, said the free medical rhapsody was the initiatives of the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla to sustained civil/military relationship by giving back to the society in order to foster a peaceful coexistence.

According to him, the NOP Idah has been committed to not only ensuring the security and safety of the nation, but also contributing to the welfare and well-being of the Nigeria citizens.

“Our presence here today in Ogbogbo community is a testament to that commitment. We recognize the importance of good health and the critical role it plays in building a strong and vibrant communities.

“It is against the foregoing that this civil-military activities is conducted in line with the Chief of Naval staff  Vice Admiral E.I Ogalla’s directive of a non-kinetic measure in the ongoing Operation Delta Sanity IV.

“Our team of dedicated medical professionals is here to provide free medical consultations, blood pressure check, general eye consultancy, health education, sugar level check, distribution of mosquito treated nets among others.

“This effort is to ensure that everyone in Ogbogbo and its adjoining communities have access to essential healthcare services”. Commander Oyagha said.

The Commanding Officer NOP urged the people of the community not to relent on their effort in giving useful information to the Navy, to enable them discharge their statutory obligation of protecting lives and property.

In his remark, the local government chairman Cosmos Atabo represented by Muhammed Aminu commended the Navy Out Post Idah for providing medical services to the people of the local government at no cost.

“I am appealing to the Navy Out Post Idah not to stop the exercise at Ogbogbo community , it should be extended to people in other communities.

“I am happy with what the Navy is doing in our local government area and I am also using this medium to urge NOP to sustain this free medical outreach in the interest of the downtrodden who can not afford quality healthcare because of their poor financial status” he stated.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme Alhaji Yakubu thank the Nigerian Navy for the medical support, noting that the health talk has afforded the people knowledge of how to live a healthy life.
