The National Universities Commission, NUC has granted full accreditation to two academic programmes offered by the Confluence University of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH) Osara that were mature for the periodic assessment in 2024.
The courses are Applied Geophysics and Geology of the Geophysics Department.
Speaking on the current development, the Director of Academic Planning of the institution, Pharm. Muhammed Asuku, explained that “this is a fall out of the October/ November 2025 Assessment exercise by the Commission to ascertain the quality of the programmes”
This was contained in a letter conveying the accreditation, signed by the NUC Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary.
The letter said that the accreditation was in fulfilment of the Commission’s Statutory responsibility to set standards and accredit such, for all academic programmes in Nigeria Universities.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Engr. Prof Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu who was elated hearing the good news congratulated the members of management staff and students of the University for the feat achieved.
Recalled that the eleven approved programmes of the NUC to be run by CUSTECH were duly accredited in 2023 at the first entry, the Vice Chancellor promised “to work assiduously to ensure that all programmes of the University enjoy full accreditation status whenever they are due, in order to put the university ahead as a University of Choice in the country”.
The accreditation is valid for five years.
