A human rights activist and public affairs commentator, Ahmed Sidiku Adoke has hailed the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over the seizure of a cocaine warehouse in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, as well as the arrest of some drug barons in connection with the seizure.
Ahmed S. Adoke gave the commendation on Friday while reacting to the news of the seizure of over 1,855 kilogrammes of cocaine and the subsequent arrest of an international drug syndicate who are behind the warehousing of the drugs in readiness for sale to prospective buyers from Europe, Asia and other countries.
The public affairs analyst who expressed shock that drug worth over N193bn can be seized from a single location somewhere in Lagos, despite the efforts of NDLEA against the activities of drug pushers, praised the intelligence network of the drug agency for the unprecedented discovery.
Ahmed Adoke who noted an upward improvement in the activities of the NDLEA since the time Gen. Muhammed Buba Marwa (rtd) assumed the headship of the agency said that NDLEA under Gen.
Marwa has distinguished itself as the only notable agency that is working hard to meet President Muhammadu Buhari’s mandate and expectations.
While describing Rtd Gen. Marwa as a public servant and an administrator per excellence who has proven his worth in all the areas he has served, urged him not to relent in his fight against illegal drugs business.
The public affairs commentator, who joined President Buhari and other prominent Nigerian to commend the efforts of Gen. Buba Marwa, urged the President to give him an award of excellence for his performances to encourage him and to spur others to emulate him.
