The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Council has described the appointment of a veteran Labour leader, Comrade Onuh Edoka as Special Adviser on Labour Matters to Governor Usman Ododo as well deserved.
In a congratulatory message signed by the union Chairman, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna in Lokoja on Sunday, the Council said the appointment of Comrade Edoka will reinvigorate the Organised Labour’s call for a better welfare for workers, thereby improving productivity.
The Chairman noted that Comrade Edoka has served meritoriously, both at the State and national level of labour union, hence he will deliver optimally.
He called on the appointee to use his wealth of experience in ensuring a better relationship with Government, especially on the need to pay workers wage award to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship being experienced by civil servants.
While praying for wisdom and good health for Comrade Edoka to carry out his duties as Special Adviser, the NUJ boss assured of the support of State Council to enable him succeed in the task ahead.
Seidu also expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy, Joel Salifu Oyibo for the recognition of Onuh Edoka, adding that the administration has set a new pace in labour/government relations
