EID-EL KABIR: Ododo Felicitates With Kogites, Calls For Renewed Commitment to Kogi Agenda

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has felicitated with the people of Kogi State on the occasion of Eid-el Kabir celebration by Muslim faithful around the world.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, the Standard Flag bearer of APC commended the people of the state for living in peace harmoniously with one another despite the challenging times the country has endured in the last few years .

Ododo who urged the people to reflect on the lessons of Eid-el Kabir celebration which he said emphasises sacrifice and obedience to the will of God, called for unwavering commitment to unity and peaceful co-existence among the people of the state.

According to him “As we celebrate Eid-el Kabir, I urge all our people to dwell on the lessons of submission and obedience to the will of God by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS) by demonstrating unflinching commitment to peaceful co-existence among the people of our dear state”.

While describing the focus of his campaign as the Kogi Agenda, Ododo maintained that the prevailing peace and unity among tribes and religious groups in the state is the basis for the preservation of the collective patrimony of all the ctizens of Kogi state.

He added that his mission is to build on the achievements of the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello in the areas of physical infrastructure, security, education, health, agriculture, women and youth development among others.

The APC candidate called on the people of the state to imbibe the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir in their individual conduct adding that political leaders and their followers must learn to promote messages devoid of violence and hate speech which he noted are capable of breaching the peace of the state by pitching individuals and groups against one another thereby constituting a violation of the the law.

The APC standard bearer also called for a peaceful campaign devoid of hatred and bitterness, stressing that politicians in the state must be conscious of the fact that only God gives power to whomever he wishes to give at any point in time.
