Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has identified Compressed Natural Gas Initiative of the AUTOGAS Nigeria as the only alternative to reduce the current hardship being experienced in the country as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
Governor Ododo who stated this while speaking at the Compressed Natural Gass Stakeholders Forum held in Lokoja Tuesday, promised to allocate land and provide other logistics support to AUTOGAS Nigeria Limited to enable the company function optimally in the State.
Represented by the Secretary to Government of Kogi State, Dr Folashade Ayoade Arike , the Governor urged the people of the state to take advantage of Compressed Natural Gas Intiatve to improve their living standard.
While reeling out some of the benefits of Compressed Natural Gas Initiative to include; provision of employment opportunities and reducing of fuel subsidy removal hardship among others, Governor Ododo assured that his administration would provide enabling environment to facilitate its effective operation in the state.
He described the theme “Driving Sustainable Energy: “The Future of CNG in Kogi” of the CNG Stakeholders Forum as timely and capable of realizing the goal behind the establishment of AUTOGAS Nigeria.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Automative Gas Nigeria Services Limited, Hajiya Maryam Ibrahim in her welcome remarks, said the objective of the company has been to revolutionize the way vehicles are fueled by providing cleaner and more environmentally friendly options for motorists.
“Our mission is to provide top-tier CNG conversation training and consultation services, supporting the transition to cleaner and more efficient automotive industry” she stated.
Speaking further the Managing Director said the company will empower individuals and provide infrastructure needed to make the switch to sustainable energy solutions.
She thank the State Government for providing enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State, assuring that the company will always collaborate with the government to achieve it’s set objective.
