APPEAL COURT JUDGEMENT : Hon. Aturu Ojo congratulates Governor Ododo, Kogi People

The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Good Governance and Due Process Hon. Aturu Ojo on Thursday described the Court of Appeal judgement that upheld the decision of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in favour of His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State as a victory for democracy and the people of the State.

He said the dismissal of the appeal filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka at the Appeal Court shows that INEC conducted a free, fair and verifiable November 11, Governorship election in Kogi State.

Speaking with news men on phone shortly after the pronouncements of the judgement, Honourable Aturu Ojo congratulated His Excellency and the people’s governor , His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the Appeal Court victory.

He said “Today’s Appeal Court judgement is a proof and indication of unwavering commitment of the Governor to the progress and development of Kogi State. His leadership style has been a shining example of dedication and selfless service to the people”

Honourable Aturu Ojo , charged the people of Kogi State irrespective of political affiliations to support His Excellency to enable him achieve his laudable programmes and policies for the State.

He also called for peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic groups in the state , noting that nothing can be achieve under the atmosphere of crises and rancour.

Recall that , the Court of Appeal on Thursday in Abuja upholds the decision of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which affirmed the victory of His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State in the November 11 gubernatorial election, and dismisses the appeal filed by the SDP candidate, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.

The Appellate Court, while resolving all four grounds of appeal against the appellant, noted that the destiny of the appeal was not in the cloud and therefore dismissed the case.
