2024 NUJ PRESS WEEK : Discharge Your Duties with Utmost Fear Of God , Imam Ayuba Urges Kogi Journalists

Journalists in Kogi State have been charged to continue to uphold the ethics of the profession and discharge their duties with utmost fear of Almighty God.

The Imam of Kogi State Ministry of Education Juma’at Mosque, Lokoja, Ustaz Abdulganiyu Ayuba gave the charge during a special Juma’at service as part of activities marking the 2024 NUJ Press Week in Lokoja.

The Imam who urged journalists to stand by the truth at all times enjoined them to play the role of watchdogs of society with the fear of Allah.

The Imam who used the occasion to pray for journalists who face difficult challenges daily in the discharge of their duties, advised them to be prayerful at all time in order to avert any difficulties.

The Chairman of Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna expressed gratitude to God for His mercy and protection of the union members over the years in the discharge of their duties.

He said the prayer session was meant to seek the face of God for his continued guidance and protection.

Alhaji Seidu who expressed gratitude to members for their support so far noted that several activities had been lined up to mark this year’s celebration of the NUJ press week in the state.

On his part, the Chairman Planning Committee of the Press Week and immediate past Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh expressed optimism towards the success of the programme in view of the level of preparedness and government support so far.

According to him, part of activities lined up for the programme include, Church service on Sunday to be followed by a road walk for members on Monday and grand finale as well as investiture of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the grand patron of the council to hold on Tuesday.

The Chairman was accompanied to the Special Juma’at service by members of the State Executive Council of the Union and member from various chapels that are under NUJ.
