Maigari of Lokoja has brought peace, unity , says Maiyaki Lawal

As the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, marks one year in office, the Maiyaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Aliu Lawal has said that Lokoja is more united than before during his reign.

Addressing Newsmen on Sunday on the activities marking the celebrating the first anniversary of the 4th Maigeri Lokoja Alhaji, Ibrahim Gambo Maikerfi, he noted that since the Maigari ascended the throne, the people have witnessed tremendous achievements.

Lawal, who is a retired Permanent Secretary in Kogi state, explained that celebration of the monarch had become necessary due to the wonderful and innovations the paramount ruler has brought to the leadership of the ancient city.

According to him, his era in the period under review has shown enormous peace, unity, progress and development, saying that the town has observed harmonious relationship between various religious faiths and diverse ethnic groups that reside in the State capital.

Lawal further announced that the traditional ruler will visit some primary health care centres, the federal teaching hospital and Kogi state specialist hospital and Orphanage homes to present support to those that are in need.

He equally revealed that a press conference would be held on Wednesday this week to clarify some nagging issues bordering the peace and unity of the ancient city, regretted that the recent controversy of the un-approved Etsu Nupe in Lokoja which has caused tension will be addressed.

Lawal, also explained that there will be a special Juma’at prayer on Friday and Christian church service on Sunday for the Maigeri Lokoja and the ancient city for God’s continuous blessings and protection.
