David Irefin is an ordained Christ Shepherd in the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. In this interview with selected Journalists in Lokoja, Kogi State, Professor Irefin, said that Brotherhood means Oneness, God and everything created by Him put together.

What is the meaning of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star?
There are many misconceptions about the true meaning of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. This is because no person on earth knows the meaning. It is for this reason that the Founder, Builder and Sustainer of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, The Sole Spiritual Head of the universe Leader Olumber Olumber Obu, decided to reveal the meaning to humanity.
What is Brotherhood?
It means God, Christ and the Angels. It means the people of the world, the fishes in the water, the trees in the forest, the grasses that grows in the fields. It means the ground on which we walk. Brotherhood means the sky, the wind, the moon, the sun and the stars.
It means the worms, the ants, the birds. Brotherhood means every four-footed animals and every creeping thing. In short, Brotherhood means everything created by God. Brotherhood means ONENESS. God and everything created by Him put together is Brotherhood.
God owns Brotherhood? It is God who owns rules and leads it; but Christ takes charge. What are the duties of Angels? They are servants in Brotherhood. What are the duties of the people? They too are workers in Brotherhood. The stars, moon, fishes, animals, birds of the air, etc. are workers in Brotherhood.
Brotherhood does not mean two things. It means oneness. It is the word. It is the truth. Why is it that people of this world do not know what Brotherhood means? It is because it is not given to them to understand. Brotherhood is not a society. It is not a cult. It is a spirit of love. I am Brotherhood.
You are Brotherhood, whether you like it or not, everybody is Brotherhood. To those who want to know its origin, we say Brotherhood has no origin. It has no beginning; it has no end. Brotherhood was founded by Christ, not angels or men. It was founded by God himself. God, the Father is Love.
Brotherhood means Love. It is truth, good manners, mercy and patience. It is humility, meekness and unity. It is oneness, one thought, one mind, one spirit, one faith and one hope. There is no division in Brotherhood. From the smallest child in the cradle to the oldest man, from the smallest village to the biggest one; all the countries in the world put together are Brotherhood.
What is Cross?
Anybody who wants to follow me, but does not take up the cross after Me cannot be My follower, said Christ. Without the cross, the world could not have been saved. Cross therefore means bearing another man’s burden without complaining and tolerating all kinds of sinners; the murderers, the thieves, the backbiters, etc.
To be able to carry the Cross, you must resign yourself completely to God. You must be loving, humble, you must have patience, you must be forgiving, you must see others better than yourself, you must not be envious. If Jesus did not possess these qualities, He could not have carried the Cross.
When you remain with a cunning man without hurting his feelings for being crafty; if you can stay with a notorious liar very happily without stirring up his anger when he tells you a lie; when one persecutes you falsely and seeks to destroys your life by all means, yet you tolerate him wholeheartedly, you are carrying the real Cross.
If you can rejoice in tribulation and humiliation; if you can tolerate abuses from people, both young and old; then you are carrying the Cross. It requires determination and endurance without complaining. You must always be prepared for the worst, all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What is Star, the Great Light?
You have been reading in the scripture about a secret name. the secret name is the Star. The Star is Christ. The Star is the glory of God and it is the glory of Christ. The Star is the revelation of God. It is the hidden name to people in the world. The Star indicates the reign and glory of Christ. The Star means the brightness of God and the Power of His reign. The Star is the peace of the Almighty God that governs the universe. There is no other Monarch other than Christ, The Star.
From His birth, the great light has been shinning over His head. It is the only light that shines the whole world over. Therefore, it is not just enough for any person to be Brotherhood only, or carry the Cross only.
To be worthy children of the Kingdom of God, we must be of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. The Star indicates those who will rule and are ruling with Him. The Star means Christ, His glory and that of His Father. He has arrived with the Father to live with men on earth. He comes in glory to rule the whole world, not to serve, suffer and die as He did in His first coming.
What is the mission of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu on this earth?
The Mission of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu is to lead the whole world to the accurate knowledge of truth. His Mission is in three folds;
To lead man to the accurate knowledge of truth. You must not beat your child, your house maid or your wife. You must not count sin for anyone nor judge any person. You must not commit any act of sin. Now that you are wasting your time, it is incumbent that you put these teachings into practice.
Do you know that one man should marry one wife? Each man has to have only one wife, for the whole of his lifespan? Nobody is to consult oracle or soothsayers and you must not inject any black power into your body or rub any concoctions on your body. You must not believe in ghosts, mermaids, witchcraft or any evil forces.
Leader Olumba Olumba Obu came to reform man. The work that He has come to do on earth is so great and significant that no one has ever done such work before. It is also impossible that any other person can accomplish this work.
The major assignment He came to do has never been done before nor will it ever be done again. It is to reform a sinner and return him to a standard required by God, so that he may live according to the expectations of God.
Since the creation of man by God, have you ever found anyone in the world, who is able to reform a sinner? Right from the time of Adam, have you ever seen a man who has been able to change himself from this vile body to the glorious body of Our Lord Jesus Christ?
The reason why the whole world is looking for Our Lord Jesus Christ is so that He may come and change our vile body from mortality to immortality. If you are not reformed now, that is to say you must refrain completely from all manner of vices, how will your vile body be changed to the glorious body of Christ? Now that some of you have been completely reformed, what do you think Our Lord Jesus Christ will do when He comes back.
Brethren, you know that to acquire material things are no problem. But our problem is how to practice righteousness so that our vile or mortal bodies might be changed to immortality. Therefore, all those who are looking for Him must purify themselves even as He is pure. If you are seeking for a new earth, then you must have love, peace, meekness, temperance, endurance, self-control, humility, tolerance and the spirit of forgiveness.
To establish the Kingdom of God where righteousness dwells His mission is to establish the Kingdom of God so that the will of God may be done on earth as it is done in Heaven. For this new Kingdom, there is no room for abuses, hatred or any vices whatsoever. This is because the Holy Spirit has come to make all things new. Thus, the Kingdom is characterized by purity and righteousness. It is the new world where color of skin, language, gender, social status and religion do not count. Therefore, there shall be no more division, discrimination, segregation, whatsoever amongst the human family.
Is this a strange language?
Where you find people quarrelling, fighting, committing fornication, causing division and judging one another, can you say that righteousness dwells there? When you find people weeping and crying, can you say that they are righteous? Where you find people causing and abusing one another saying ‘Woe unto you, your family or country’, can you say that is where righteousness dwells?
What is Love?
There is only one God and Lord and we all humans are brethren. Very many people erroneously say that there are many and different gods. This is not true; there is only one God and Lord. A lot of many others ignorantly think and believe that there are many commandments and laws, but I want to reveal to you that there is only one commandment, which is “Love one another”.
I want to reveal the meaning of love to the whole world. Love does not consist in clothes, food, human beings or anything. God is love; Our Lord Jesus Christ is Love; the Holy Spirit is Love. That is why it is said that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are ONE. That is also why Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “I and My Father are One”.
The real meaning of Love is ONENESS; to regard every other person as yourself. You regard them as yourself whether such a person is a small child, an old fellow, a white man, black man or whatever. You should understand that God regards everybody in the world as one; whether you are a man or woman, white or black, rich or poor, high or low, God regards all as same.
What are the cause of the world’s problems?
The cause of the troubles and problems in the world is the simple fact that there is no love. Do what you may in the world, if you do not have love, you cannot achieve anything and there will never be any peace among you. If you have love, you will not kill, steal and disgrace, abuse. Or cause any person.
Brethren, that is the only law promulgated by God and Our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not found a church nor did He erect a church building. He founded and established LOVE. He said we should love one another as He has loved us. For you to shout ‘Jesus’, etc. every day at the top of your voice without putting the word of God into practice profits you nothing. Go back and put these words into practice because He has said that anybody who hears His commandments and keeps it is the person who loves Him.
All of us are children of God; a thief is a child of God even though he is a wanted person. When we talk about prodigal children, we mean thieves, robbers, prostitutes, drunkards, murderers and all those who engage in sins and vices; they are all children of God, but they are wanted children. Do not ever refer to another person as Satan.
There is no Satan but the spirit of Error. When we steal; we say it is Satan, this is not true, the problem is that we have no love. The Bible refers to the lost sheep of Israel, and who do you think they are? They are those who drink, smoke, the idolators, liars, fornicators, etc; yet are they not all children of God? Wanted children?
The Father is here. Our Lord Jesus Christ has come. The Holy Spirit has come and all the Heavenly hosts are here, and so, we must have love. If you keep looking at the sky to know when Our Lord Jesus Christ will descend, you will look till doom’s day and He will not come to you. Go home and practice love one towards another and He will reveal Himself to you. You have never been told that a drunkard, thief, liar, murderer or fornicator will see God. Such persons can never see God.
If you therefore love one another, it means that you love Him and have obeyed His commandments, and He in turn will love you and His Father will love you and He will reveal Himself to you. Stop asking where you can find God, just obey Him and love one another and He will come unto you and you will see Him.
What are the consequence of lack of Love?
Have you heard that? Go and experiment on this. Go and rearrange your thinking. If you have been bearing grudge or planning ill against any person, forget all that and begin to love the person and think good of the person, and Our Lord Jesus Christ will love you and reveal Himself to you. All those who have no love remain in death till now and death is waiting at their door steps. The scriptures say we have moved from death unto life because we love the brethren, but any person who has no love, remains in death (1 John 3:14).
From January to December, every year, I preach nothing to you but LOVE because love is the central theme of all preaching and if you do not have love, it means that you are worth nothing in the world.
How can people emulate our Lord Jesus Christ?
If you buy a car for Christ, He won’t ride in it; if you build a mansion for Him, He won’t live in it, but if you love one another, Our Lord Jesus Christ will love you, His Father will love you and will reveal Himself to you. This is not the time for you to idle away. The time is short and you must practice love. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not only preach love but demonstrated it in practical terms and we should do exactly as He has done because we are all debtors.
He has told you that if you are slapped, you should turn the other cheek; that if your coat is demanded, surrender the inner coat too; that we should not rebuke or resist any evil doer.
Why do you say that you know Our Lord Jesus Christ and that He is your Savior and Master and that you are a Christian, and yet, you do not keep His words?
He has told us, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven; for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and unjust.” No person has the right to judge the other or criticize or sow seeds of discord or create distinction among persons.
It is only Jehovah God and His Christ who is in existence and who is all in all. We have to emulate Him. If He had not come, we would be excusable, but since He has come and taught us and shown us love, we must practice it. We must love one another as He has loved us.
You should realize that each and every one of you is a church and if you count the number of human beings in the world, so is the number of churches. No person can establish or found a church; only God can do that and He created Adam as a church and went inside and lived with him. You call someone ‘Brother’ and he says “Get out, I am not your brother, I am Catholic or Apostolic or Lutheran or Hindu or Buddhist or Muslim; does it mean you are not a child of God? It is said; in the last days all churches will be united. This means that if we have love, one towards another, we would have been united. Our Lord Jesus Christ says love one another as I have loved you. He has not said we should love only our kind, that is, only people of our race or denomination or tribe; He has not said we should love only those who love us. He says we should not discriminate; we should not hate; that we should love all human beings and all creations and regard every person as ourselves. We should come together as one and live in Love.
What is your advise to the entire world?
His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu says 2025 is a year of purity and righteousness. This year will not tolerate oppression, cheating, corrupt practices, discrimination, and most importantly neglect of the poor and mases. The Holy Spirit says all those holding political offices at all levels are put there by the Father God as his representatives. His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has said that rulers must be compassionate and rule the people in love.
That their decision and actions must not negatively affect the poor, the destitute, and the needy, and the displaced people. This is because He says this Year, He will hear the cry of the poor and needy. That this is a reminder to all rulers who will stand before God and give account for their actions. They should remember one day they will give account to God on how they manage the position or offices he gives them.
