The Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah A. Evinemi, on Sunday congratulated the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and is Deputy comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu on the occasion of their one year in office.
Dr. Evinemi in a goodwill message to the Governor, said the Kogi New Agenda Government led by Governor Ododo, has toiled day and night to bring the state to her present glowing stage.
According to him, since the assumption of office of the Governor, he has prioritized the welfare of civil servants in the state, adding that the civil service reforms embarked upon by his administration has repositioned the civil service for effective service delivery
“Since your assumption of Office on January 27th, 2024, your Excellency has prioritized the welfare of Civil Servants.
“We note with pride the Civil Service reforms embarked upon by your administration which repositioned the Civil Service for effective service delivery and brought on board policies that significantly improved the welfare of Kogi workers.
He said chief among these welfare enhancing policies includes: Prompt payment of salaries to Civil Servants and pensioners, implementation of N72,500 only, as minimum wage to Kogi workers and release of promotion letters of 2018 to 2022 to Staff.
Others according to the HoS are Implementation of the new Pension Harmonization and Health Insurance Scheme for Pensioners, appointment of 12 new Permanent Secretaries to fill in the available vacancies, provision of 37 Official vehicles for judges and the Installation of CCTV Cameras at the State Secretariat Complex premises to ensure security of the place, completion of perimeter fencing at the State Secretariat Complex and approval for Training of Permanent Secretaries and some Senior Staff among others.
