Kogi west PDP senatorial primary, Dino 88, TJ Yusuf 88. —–Kogi Central PDP Elects Okino, Ogembe, Ogunmola others.

Ahead of 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi state has conducted its primary elections while in some of the senatorial district the election still ongoing.

In Kogi west senatorial primary election of the party on Monday ended in a deadlocked as the former Senator, Senator Dino Melaye scored 88 votes while another aspirant, a member of the House of Representative representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal Constituency Hon. Tajudeen Yusuf also scored 88 votes.

The outcome of the primary election indicated that there will be a rerun between the two aspirants today Tuesday to decide who will pick the ticket of the party ahead of 2023 general election.

Also in Kogi central senatorial district of the state, Sanni Salawu Ogembe emerged as the candidate for Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal constituency, while Aloysius Adeiza Okino emerged as the party’s candidate for Ajaokuta federal constituency.

A former Okehi Local Government Chairman, Abdulmalik Abdulraheem Danga emerged as Adavi/Okehi House of Representative flag-bearer while the trio of Ovurevu Sheidu Abara emerged in Adavi, Ajanaku Tijani Umar emerged in Okene II and Mohammed Haruna Ganaja emerged in Ajaokuta for the State House of Assembly.

A former publicity secretary of the Kogi PDP, Prince Bode Ogunmola picked the ticket for Ogori-Magongo, while Onivehu Musa Siyaka emerged in Okehi for state assembly respectively.

Apparently, PDP would be conducting the primary for Senate aspirants on Tuesday to produce candidates of the party.

Amongst the contenders for the Senate ticket in Kogi Central are Ahmed Ogembe, Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, Abdulkareem Salihu, Muhammed Onimisi, Etudaye Muhammed and Mahmud Ademu Attah.

Meanwhile in the eastern part of the state , Victor Adoji won the senatorial election.
