Education Stakeholders urge to adopt School Adoption and Mentorship programme to develop rural schools

Stakeholders in the education sector have been charged to use the Kogi state School Adoption and Mentorship programme to boost development of schools at the rural areas.

Education Secretary (ES),
Bassa Local government area, Ali Baba Abdullahi gave the charge in Kpata during the scholarship award and donation of educational materials to schools in the local government area by Hon.
Danjuma Yunusa the councillor of Kpata ward.

He noted that schools in rural areas were in need of several interventions and that government alone could not meet up with the expectations.

Represented by Mr John Ndalai, the Education Secretary called on spirited individuals to key into the school adoption and mentorship programme of the state in order to give facelift in basic education sector.

Chairman, Bassa Local government area, Muktar Shuaibu Muhammed represented by Mallam Hamidu Saliu applauded Mallam Danjuma Yunusa for donating the educational materials aimed at boosting the standard of schools in the local government.

The Chairman implored other government appointees in the council to emulate Mallam Danjuma who is a ward Councillor in the area but contributing to education sector.

Principal, Universal Basic Education (UBE) Junior Secondary School, Kpata, Mr Moses commended the gesture which he said would go a long way in improving learning in the schools.

Mr Moses waniko in his remark noted that the donation as well as provision of scholarships to over 150 less privileged students in the area, describing it as first of its kind in the ward.

The initiator of the scholarship programme , Hon. Danjuma Yunusa said the gesture was in a bid to alleviate the hardship of selected households and equally increase school enrollment in the LGA.

He appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for the opportunity to serve as a council member and called on people of the council to support government to succeed.
