Acting Executive Chairman Lokoja LGA, Hon. Comfort Ife Assumes Office, Solicits workers support

The Acting Executive Chairman of Lokoja local government Mrs Comfort Ife has solicited the support and cooperation of the council workers to enable her achieve the desired successes and development for the local government.

The Chairmanship position remained vacant last week Thursday when the Executive Chairman of the council Hon. Danasabe Mohammed was suspended by the Kogi state house of assembly for alleged financial recklessness and misappropriation of funds amounted to over N150 million.

Speaking during the taking over of duty as the Acting Executive Chairman of Lokoja local government at the secretariat on Monday , Comfort Ife said the responsibility of governing the council is enormous and appealed to the workers of the council for support to enable her succeed.

“It is not by my power that today I am taking over the leadership of Lokoja local government in acting capacity . It is the handiwork of God Almighty and I can not do it alone without the cooperation and support of every body in the council.

“I am appealing to both men and women and all the stakeholders in Lokoja to come closer as my doors are always open for advise and suggestions that can move the local government forward.

“I am your sister, your daughter and I want you all to rally round me so that together we can achieve great things for our dear local government” she said

The Acting Executive Chairman commended and appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for giving women their rightful positions in the governance of the state and promised not to let the governor down in the discharge of her responsibilities.

In his remark, the Secretary of Lokoja local government Hon. Umar Baba Mohammed, said Comfort Ife has been destined by God to head the local government and assured that the Acting Executive Chairman would enjoy every support she needed to succeed.
