Make Judicious use of death benefit to better your lives, CP Akeem Charges Police Next of Kins in Kogi

The Commissioner of Police Kogi State Police Command, CP Akeem A. Yusuf on Tuesday presented cheques worth N32,767,784.86k on behalf of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to the families of 44 Police Officers who died in active service and those involved in an accident while carrying out their duties.

Presenting Cheques to the affected Police officers and next of kins of the deceased Officers, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration; DCP Ajewole Joshua Adedayo stated that the Police recognizes the impact of the deceased Officers, assuring that the Force will always support the families especially in the education of the children.

He further stated that the gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers and to support Police Officers who became accident victims while carrying out their duties, noting that the gesture would spur other Officers in active service to be diligent.

While urging Police Officers who are accident victims to keep up their good work, the DCP advised the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but make judicious use of the money for the betterment of their families as he wished them safe journey back to their various destinations.

The beneficiaries, appreciates the IGP for the gesture and promise to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
