KOGI GUBER : Muri/Sam Campaign Council Alleged That Gov Bello Plans To Establish Situation Room To Disenfranchise Voters

The Social Democratic Party SDP has alleged that the Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has concluded plans to establish a situation room in collaboration with some INEC staff with the intention of hiring more IT professionals to hack into the system of the Commission.

The party said the intention was to disenfranchise Kogi East voters who are vehemently ready to cast their votes for SDP on November, 11 2023 slated for the governorship election in the state.

The allegations was contained in a statement issued by Isaiah Davies Ijele, the Director New Media , Muri/Sam Campaign Council on Sunday which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja.

The statement also alleged that the governor has provided armoured vehicles to Local Government Chairmen to facilitate their unrestricted sinister movements throughout the State on election day.

“We therefore ask the Commission to collaborate with security agencies to enforce restrictions on movements as it is customary”

The statement enjoined the Commission to investigate why the INEC satellites that are meant to be mounted in Lokoja, the State headquarters of the Commission found it way to Mopa Moro LGA in Kogi West, noting that the party and its members demanded to know the rationale behind relocating such a sensitive material at this critical time.

“Equally take notice, that, we have it on good authority that Governor Yahaya Bello and cohorts are amassing mercenaries across all districts in the State to undermine, disrupt and subvert the electoral process.

“Therefore, we urgently request the early deployment of security agencies to Kogi State to safeguard the integrity of the election and to protect lives and property of the suffering and tired masses of Kogi State” the statement said.

The party however express its gratitude to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their prompt response and reassurances on the earlier concerns raised by the party, saying the quick response is a sign that the Commission is truly committed to conducting credible, free and fair election in the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi State.
