As part of effort to ameliorate the current hardship, Kogi State judiciary has received 200 bags of rice as food palliative from the state government.
Addressing journalists during the inspection of the food palliative by the Chief Judge of Kogi State Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi at High court in Lokoja, the Chief Registrar High Court of Justice Ibrahim Oladimeji disclosed that aside the 200 bags of rice from the state government the Chief Judge also donated 40 bags of rice to complement government effort.
The Chief Registrar assured that a formidable sharing formula will be adopted to ensure that there is equitable distribution of the food palliative to all segments of the judiciary in the state.
He said “We have three courts in the Judiciary namely , the High Court, Customary Court and the Sharia Court including the Judicial Service Commission.
“The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) will come up with a sharing formula and the sharing formula is that whatever a staff in High Court get out of the food palliative it will be the same at every other courts in the spirit of equitable distribution” he explained.
The Chief Registrar expressed his gratitude to the state government and the Chief Judge of the state for providing 240 bags of rice as palliative, promising that the gesture would get to every judicial workers in Kogi state.
“The CJ has been extending hand of fellowship to staff of judiciary even before he became the Chief Judge. We thank him for prioritizing the welfare of judicial staff in the state” he said.
Also speaking , the State Chairman , JUSUN Mr Emmanuel Idawaniko said the sharing of the food palliative would commence on Monday, assuring that the ten inspectorate in the judiciary would benefit from the gesture.
While commending Kogi State Government and the Chief Judge for ameliorating the suffering of judicial staff as a result of the current economic situation, the JUSUN Chairman urged members to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
