Power Generation/ Distribution: Publisher, Olugbemi commends Gov Ododo for Ambitious Step

Publisher of Democracy Newsline Newspaper and democracynewsline.com, an online blog based in Kogi, Chief Olugbemi Femi has commended the bold step taken by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to generate and distribute power in Kogi State.

Chief Femi commendation in a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.

He stated that the initiative is a welcome development and a sign that the administration is attentive to the needs of the people.

The veteran journalist described the steps taken by the administration as praiseworthy and encouraging all Kogites to cooperate and support him.

He expressed his satisfaction in reflecting on one of his press statements where he suggested that the state should follow the example of Abia State in establishing a Geometric Power generation Plant and distribution company to address the challenges posed by the Abuja Electrical Distribution Company.

He pointed out that Governor Ododo’s actions demonstrate a commitment to taking Kogi State to a new level of development.

Chief Femi who noted that the project is ambitious, as not many states would choose to pursue such a path at this point, however believes that the state is blessed with untapped mineral resources, which can be leveraged, along with the confluence of River Niger and Beune in Lokoja, the substantial coal deposits in Ankpa, and the abundant sunlight in the state.

He emphasized that the people of the state are eager to enjoy an uninterrupted 24-hour power supply, which would revitalize the state’s economy.

He also commended the ongoing work at Adogo Airstrip, which is being converted into a cargo airport, recognizing that these efforts are aimed at making the state an economic hub in North Central Nigeria.
