—- Distributes mosquito nets
The Navy Out Post (NOP) in Idah local government area of Kogi State has offered free medical treatment to over 600 people under the 2024 Operation Delta Sanity II of the Nigerian Navy.
Declaring the programme open in Idah on Tuesday, the Commanding Officer NOP , Commander Nelson Oyagha said the free medical rhapsody was a directive from the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla that the Naval Out Post should extend hands of fellowship to the host community.
According to him, the NOP Idah has been committed to not only ensuring the security and safety of our nation, but also contributing to the welfare and well-being of the nation citizens.
“Our presence here today is a testament to that commitment. We recognize the importance of good health and the critical role it plays in building a strong, vibrant, and resilient community.
“It is against the foregoing that this civil-military activities is conducted in line with the Chief of Naval staff Vice Admiral E.I Ogalla’s Directive of a Non-Kinetic measure in the ongoing Operation Delta Sanity II.
“Our team of dedicated medical professionals is here to provide free medical tests and consultations, ensuring that everyone has access to essential healthcare services. We understand that health is wealth, and by offering these services, we hope to bring about positive changes in the lives of many.
“In addition to the medical services, we are delighted to share some gift items with you. These gifts, though modest, are tokens of our appreciation and respect for the hospitality and warmth that you have extended to us. It is our hope that these items will bring joy and comfort to your homes” the Commanding Officer said.
While commending the locals and community leaders in Idah for their cooperation and support in making this outreach possible, Commander
Oyagha, urged them to take full advantage of the services provided to improve in their health status.
He noted that the health programme features health talk, free medical care, free drugs , free blood pressure test and distribution of mosquito nets.
Mrs Ogungbero Foluke a registered nurse/midwife in her health talks to the people of the community, urged them to imbibed the spirit of personal hygiene to avoid prevailing diseases that can cost them their lives.
“As part of your personal hygiene, you should washed your hands when ever you visit toilet, wash fruits before you consume it and keep your environment clean at all time.
“These health tips will go a long to improve your health condition. Shun alcoholic consumption, avoid too much intake of salt and ensure you eat balance diet to nourish your body” she advised.
In his remark, the caretaker chairman of Idah local government Hon. Amadi Ochijenu thank the Nigerian Navy for the medical support.
