Hon Yusuf Eneve empowers over 800 parents to pay children’s school fees in Okene II constituency

Over 800 parents have benefitted from education support programme organized by a lawmaker Hon. Yusuf Zakari Eneve representing Okene II state constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.

Presenting a cash of thirty thousand naira (#30,000) each to the beneficiaries in Okene local government area of the state on Saturday the first term lawmaker , said the education support programme was part of his effort to mark the one year in office of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as the Governor of Kogi State.

Hon. Eneve stated that the empowernment programme cut across the four wards in the state constituency namely; Avuga-Ozuja, Obehira Eba, Obehira Uvete and Upogoro- Odenku, noting that the gesture which has gulped over 24 million naira was to ease the burden of school fees from parents.

Speaking on the choice of education for the empowernment, the lawmaker pointed out that the Governor of the state Ahmed Usman Ododo has prioritize education through infrastructural development and payment of WAEC, JAMB and other external examinations for the students in public schools in the state, noting that his decision to support the Governor to achieve his laudable plans for the state in the area of providing quality education.

While calling on the people of his constituency to redouble their effort in supporting Governor Ododo’s administration, the lawmaker appealed to those who are not part of the empowernment programme to exercise patients as the next one will definitely capture them.

In his remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on domestic affair Hon. Kashim Ahmed Ododo commended the lawmaker for prioritizing the welfare of his constituents.

He charged political leaders at the grassroots to shun greed and allow the dividend of democracy to touch the electorate, saying such attitude will create the desire peace and unity at the local level.

Also speaking at the lawmaker event, Hon. Muazu Salihu Animuku the zonal chairman of APC, central senatorial district praised the lawmaker for giving back to his constituents, saying the effort will go a long way to assist parents who are the beneficiaries.

He stated that the selection of the beneficiaries was done across other political parties, saying the essence was to foster unity among the people of the state constituency irrespective of political affiliations.

One of the beneficiaries Aisha Isah a widow and mother of two children expressed her gratitude to the lawmaker, saying he had assisted her in paying the school fees of her children.
