The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller Dantawaye has commended the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Obajana Division for rescuing three kidnapped victims during the ongoing raid operations at Ankomi forest in Lokoja local government area of the state.
The operation was in collaboration with the Army and Fulani Vigilant Group.
CP Dantawaye in statement issued by the Police Public Relation Officer of the Command, SP William Ovye Aya on Monday, the statement said all the victims were rescued unhurt after a gun duel with the hoodlums in the bush.
The Commissioner , commended the joint security team for their outstanding gallantry displayed during the bush combing, assuring law-abiding people of Kogi State that the Command is determined in collaboration with other security agencies to rid Kogi State of all forms of crimes and criminality.
“Due to the superior fire power of the joint security team, the hoodlums abandoned their victims and fled with gunshots injuries.
“It was later revealed that the victims comprising of one Musa Abdullahi of Mangu LGA of Plateau state and one Abdulazeez Adamu of Okene, Kogi State were both abducted on 15th May , 2025 from one J5 vehicle along Osara road in Adavi local government area of Kogi state on their way from Ekpoma in Edo state heading towards Jos, Plateau state.
“In addition, the third victim one Yusuf Ibrahim of Zaria Local Government, Kaduna state was also abducted from a trailer on the same date and location” the statement said.
The statement notified the adjoining communities to be on the lookout for any one seeking medical attention in the nearby area and report to the nearest security formation.
