The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Good Governance and Due Process Honourable Aturu Ojo has assured that the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Kogi State would clear all the 21 local government Chairmen and the 239 councillors in the forthcoming local government election in the state.
Hon. Aturu a grassroot politician and mobilizer of votes stated this shortly after the flag off of the state-wide campaign for the local government council election by the APC, held at the Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja on Thursday.
According to him, the calibre of candidates the ruling party has presented for the council election would no doubt wins the election landslide, saying the candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions are generally accepted by their people.
“If you observe all the candidates APC is presenting for the October 19, 2024 council election in Kogi state, you will know that the party mean business. The choice of the candidates were generally accepted by the people at the various local government areas.
“Again as former Caretaker Committee Chairmen they have really distinguished themselves as young politicians who have the interest of their people at heart, that is why the APC will not only win the election , the party will beat the opposition with a large margin” Hon. Aturu said.
While thanking and commending His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for not imposing any candidate for the election, the Special Adviser stated that the performance of the Governor in the last eight months of his administration would also give advantage to the party to be victorious at the end of the election.
He called on the APC members, supporters and indeed the people of the state to come out enmass on the day of the election to cast their votes for APC candidates so that they (electorate) can enjoy more dividend of democracy at the grassroots.
