David Irefin is an ordained Christ Shepherd in the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. In this interview with OYIBO SALIHU in Lokoja, Kogi State, Irefin a renowned Professor of Economics urged Nigerian leaders to imbibe the teachings and practices of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu which provides the solution to the nation’s present confused and frustrating predicament.

EXCERPT:

There is a general concern and worries among the former presidents of Nigeria about the current level of hardship in the country. What is the cause of all these problems?

It is no longer news that Nigerians are facing economic woes and hardships. However, what is news is that a review of all comments and suggestions by community, religious and political leaders suggest that they have no idea about why Nigeria is where it is today.

If we agree that they don’t have an idea about the cause of their problem then the solution does not also lie in their hands. It is in view of the above that I want to enlighten Nigerians about the teachings and practices of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu which provides the cause and the solution to our present confused and frustrating predicament.

Historically, we could recall that the Israelites suffered in the wilderness and are still suffering today because of disobedience to God’s injunctions. Same can be said about Nigeria, which is the Israel of this generation that our refusal to obey the injunctions of God handed over to us by Leader Olumba Olumba Obu for almost a century now, is responsible for the current predicaments. I will like all Nigerians to follow me carefully in this explanation derived from the teachings of Olumba Olumba Obu about the cause(s) of our current predicament.

The causes could be traced to fornication and lust for money. You have been told that whatever you do, no matter whose child you are, the same will be done unto you in the same measure. All your difficulties, problems, sufferings come from fornication and adultery. Because it is written, any moment you commit adultery, fornication, lying, stealing and any other vices, you have put yourself into judgment.

If you, as the house of God, defile yourself, where do you expect God to dwell? The last thing is to destroy you because you are not useful to God. God is responsible for everything that happens daily. The moment you go contrary to this injunction, sickness, poverty, sufferings, afflictions, insecurity and tribulations await you and your family. When you defile the dwelling place of God, how do you expect God to be happy with you? Where do you want Him to dwell? Whoever centers his wisdom on wealth can never think of how to please God.

Now that all your hearts are in carnal wealth, can you serve God? Origin of sin is the lust of money. Are all the prostitutes not seeking for money? What about robbers and politicians, what induces them to steal? What has brought about bribery and corruption? Is it not the urge to acquire money so that you will be seen as the richest man? Sufferings and tribulations that people are subjected to arise from the lust for money. Is lust for money part of the virtues of God? A man of God does not seek for money, rather, he/she is contented with what he has. Imagine today, all the inhabitants of Nigeria are after money.

This is witnessed in the way we conduct elections, struggle for positions and offices, lie, hate, and kill for rituals. Tell me why should Nigerians not suffer and face economic woes and hardships? Everybody lies, cheats, hates, and fornicate irrespective of religious and political affiliation. Infact, Nigerians have no truth and fear of God.

What is Father Olumba’s solution to these problems?

The solution to our current economic woes, insecurity and hardships does not lie in foreign trips by the executives to United Nations, United States, European Union, Arab World, Spiritual works/assignment or building Churches and Mosques everywhere.

The solution to our problems is in Nigeria. Unknown to many, the Holy Spirit of GOD has chosen Nigeria as His abode. However, out of ignorance and pride, our political and religious leaders have chosen to ignore Him and treat Him with disdain.

But to Him, GOD the Father has given the blueprint to our economic development and political sustainability. For how long will Nigerians continue to suffer and die because of pride and ignorance? Which one is better: to surrender and go in humility to His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, who is destined to end the human sufferings and death or to continue in our present sufferings and be doomed?
This time is not the era of prophets, angels or religions, rather it is the era of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit has personified and dwells among us in Nigeria where He is using Love and righteousness to rule Heaven and Earth. He does not tolerate idolatry, violence, protests, division, fornication and hatred. What He likes is what we hate, and what He hates is what we like.

This is the source of our current problems and hardships. Until we reconcile with Him and do His bidding, there will be no solution to our current woes and hardship. Therefore, let the President, Governors, Senators, Ministers, Traditional and Religious leaders stop chasing shadows and in humility approach His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, for His Blessings and He will give them the blueprint for our economic development and political stability.

What is Central to His Teaching?

The teachings and practices of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu centre on LOVE. According to Him, God is LOVE. The Father is LOVE, our Lord Jesus Christ is LOVE, and the Holy Spirit is LOVE. This is the era of Love and He has come to dwell on earth. The implication is that love has come to dwell with Man. Therefore, if you keep the Ten Commandments and you have no love, you have failed (Rev 21: 3-5) “(3) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (4)  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Let it be known that no Prophet, Angel or Man possesses love. Love is a virtue of the Almighty God. This is the reason why He must come by Himself to teach and demonstrate love to all so that we can emulate Him (Isaiah 2: 2-4), “(2) And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. (3) And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. (4) And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”

Therefore, what is happening in the Brotherhood of The Cross and Star should be taken seriously by all those who want good days and salvation. Death, sickness, poverty, insecurity and hopelessness will be over if we agree to possess love. Hardship, calamities, suffering and hopelessness that now plunge Nigerians are as a result of rejecting love, which is the injunction of God. All the inhabitants of Nigeria should possess love.

God has only one commandment: “Love one another”. He said we should love one another as He loves us. So only those who love one another, know and worship God. Love does not steal, discriminate, hate, corrupt, fornicate, kill, rob, kidnap, get angry, nor impute sins on others. Therefore, anytime you are faced with problems, confess your sins, forsake your sins, love others and begin to do good to others and your problems will depart from you. Whatever problems that beset Nigerians is due to our lack of love. Nigerians should possess love and their current woes will turn to joy.

Love does not consist in giving out money to people. But rather think good of others and speak good of them, do not become a stumbling block onto others. Do not tell lies, fornicate, disgrace any person and regard everyone as yourself, then you are practicing love. If you possess love, you cannot close your eyes when you see others in lack and you are in a position to help. If you possess love, you will not fail to be merciful onto others. If you have love, you will be patient when others treat you badly. If you have love, you will never impute sins onto others, no matter how you are wronged. If you possess love, you will not fail to tell the truth to any person in this world.

Love died completely when Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. From that time till now, Adam and his generations departed from love. Have you not seen the outcome- disasters, earthquakes, wars, floods and many disastrous occurrences? These are the consequences of violating God’s injunctions. Thus, if you have no love, you must suffer, fall sick, and in the end, doomed (Rev 2:4-5). “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”

The impending doom is too fearful if we fail to possess this love for one another. Have you pondered on a situation where by a President, Governor, or religious leader gets sick? Why are rich people sick? Why do great scientists and medical doctors get sick and die? Why do the highly placed people in the society get sick and die? The reason is they lack love.

The real meaning of love is Oneness. It means to regard every other person as yourself. You regard them as yourself whether such a person is a child, old man, black man, white man, whatsoever. This is the reason why we have been returned back to our old National Anthem, “Though tribe and tongues may differ but in Brotherhood we stand” Brotherhood in this case means God and God translate to oneness.

Let all Nigerians take themselves the same and not as Efiks, Igbo, Hausa, Kanuri, Tiv or Yoruba. The only thing we have to do is to love every person. Do no evil against any person. If you have two things, give one to another person who has none. Regard every person in the same way. This does not require prayer, fasting, going on pilgrimage, and embarking on foreign trips as beggars.

What consequence will the people face when they refuse to have love?

All the troubles and problems in the world result from the absence of love. Do what you wish or want in the world without love, there will be no progress and peace anywhere in the world. Absence of love is the destruction and death being currently experience in the world. For instance, look at what absence of love has done in our country.

There are chaos, woes, and crisis everywhere. Look at insecurity, hunger, poverty, threat of wars, suffering and division everywhere. Absence of love will never allow our political and religious leaders achieve any meaningful thing in Nigeria. This situation will remain or get worse until we all possess love. This is because God always hands over those who lack love to angels for punishment.
