A popular music artist Honourable Jumabee has called on youth with talents in music, dancing and poet in Kogi State to come out and showcase their worth in the forthcoming Kogi Star Search programme aimed at uplifting entertainment industry in the state.
Jumabee who is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on entertainment, disclosed this at a press conference held in Lokoja the State capital.
According to him , the programme which will commence in the month of December this year will be targeting over one thousand stars in the areas of singing, acting, dancing , poet among others.
He noted that Kogi State is blessed with a lot of talents, saying that it is time for all the stakeholders in the field of entertainment to project their energy and resources toward developing the talents to avoid being wasteful.
“I am passionate about humanity and I have understand over time that the excess of existence is adding values to life and I will continue in my own little way to affect lives positively to make the society a better place for all especially the youth that have talents but they can not develop it.
“Kogi State is blessed with a lot of talents and it is time to project our energy properly toward developing these talents so that it will not waste away. Kogi Star Search is not basically on music , we will search for best dancers, poet” he said .
He assured that there are a lot of producers and promoters who have indicated interest to support the programme to achieve the set objectives of the Kogi Star Search project.
The President DAW Empire Entertainment Dami Adenuga who is one of the sponsor of the project described Kogi State as a State of abundant talents, stressing that the project will be searching for talents beyond creativity and ecstatic to showcase Kogi state to the world .
He stated that the Search project will be a huge platform for Kogi youth to use as a ladder to achieve their dreams in music, dancing, acting.
Movie producer and model instructor Olarewaju Rotimi Churchy in his remark, said aside petroleum, entertainment industry is capable of generating enormous revenue and empowernment for the country.
He described the Star Search as a huge opportunity for Kogi youth to excel to make Kogi the new hub of entertainment in Nigeria and Africa at large, noting the initiative will no doubt benefit a lot of kogi youth.
“The search team will go to the three senatorial district of the state to hunt for talents. I am urging Kogi youth , if you know you can dance, sing and you are a poet come out and showcase your worth so that you can be supported to achieve your dreams” he advised .
