INSECURITY : Monarchs collaborates with security agencies to crack down criminals, protect Chinese investors

The Agbana of Isanlu Kingdom in Yagba East local government area of Kogi State, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi has called on security agents in the area to intensify effort in protecting the life and property of citizens and Chinese investors in the interest of development of the area.

Oba Otombi made the call on Monday in Isanlu headquarters of Yagba East during a security meeting involving traditional rulers, representative of the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Vigilante group and Hunters, immigration department, SIB and DSS.

According to him Nigeria since independent has a bilateral relationship with China’s belt and road initiative, noting that since the establishment of diplomatic relation over 50 years ago, China and Nigeria have joined hands, supported each other, respected and accommodated each other’s core interests.

The first class monarch noted that Chinese projects, enterprises and personnel have been making outstanding contributions and playing an irreplaceable role in promoting community development in Isanlu kingdom, maintaining that there is need for security agents to protect their assets and personnels to enable communities benefit more from the foreign investors.

“In order to protect the smooth operation of Chinese projects and its institutions, the Agbana of Isanlu Kingdom, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi, the Elegbe of Egbe Kingdom, Oba Irukera, the Elulu of Mopa Kingdom, Oba Jerome Joledo have resolved to related with security departments and general public to safeguard the legitimate interests of Chinese projects in Isanlu, curb violent acts by criminals, and jointly purify the public security environment” the monarch stated.

In his remarks, the director of security, Yagba East Local Government Area, Mr Alebiosu Rafiu, commended the contribution of Chinese enterprises to the economic development of Isanlu kingdom and its environs, assuring that “it is his duty to maintain the safety of Chinese projects, enterprises and personnel in the local area”.

He pointed out that his department would mobilize relevant forces to cooperate with vigilante, hunters, police and other departments and organizations to carry out special protection operations for the foreign investors.

Responding on behalf other benefitting security agencies, the Isanlu Police Area Commander, ACP Okoye Thomas expressed gratitude to the Chinese Company and the Isanlu paramount ruler for the gesture, saying they will continue to do everything humanly possible to guarantee safety of lives and property in the community.
