Kogi State on Tuesday flagg-off the reconstruction of a 13.71km road, stretching from Itakpe Junction through Kabba Junction to Total Junction in Okene.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year according to the project manager.

At the flag-off ceremony, Governor Bello said that despite the road being under the jurisdiction of the federal government, the recurring challenges faced by travelers and local communities, as well as the negative perception it creates for the state, compelled his administration to take the initiative.

The governor highlighted that numerous appeals had been made to the federal government and its relevant ministries and agencies in the past, but they had not been heeded.
