The decision was announced on Monday during a high-profile visit to the palace of the Paramount ruler and the Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, where the former Governor met with traditional rulers, religious leaders, community elders, youth groups from the district.
According to sources present at the meeting, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, personally appealed to his predecessor to heed the requests of party leaders and constituents.
